Default 1970 brake pedal adjustment

I installed my brake pedal assembly and it does not ingauge the brake switch. My question is can the rod on the back of the brake booster be adjusted to make the pedal ingauge the switch?

No I don’ think so. The bracket that attaches on to the rod threads on but no adjustment. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the information. I knew there was adjustment in the switch but did not think there was in the striker. Do you just loosen the 2 bolts holding the strker to adjust it? I don’t think there is enough adjustment in the switch alone. Pedal height looked good so I thought there must be other adjustment points.

Hi Ray,
Here's the sheet from the 71 AIM showing the installation of the brake lamp switch.
Notice the Detail 'A' and also Note 'A' which show the adjustment available.
It's the 2 small bolts (Item #4) at the top of the bracket that allow the adjustment.
Regards,
Alan

Allen, thanks again for the help. I have a AMI but it at the building I have for my cars. It is 30 miles away from where I live. I think about this stuff when it is not handy. Thanks again, Ray.

Hi,
I forgot to mention... one of the holes for the 2 small bolts is slotted a little and that's what allows the adjustment of the position of the bracket for the switch.
Regards,
Alan

Thanks Allen, I plan to go over Wendesday and work on the car. I will try and get that problem taken care of. Thanks again, Ray.
