Default 700r swap Nashville Area?
Looking for a reputable shop to swap my 1981 to a 700r transmission in the Nashville, TN area. Don't mind taking the car somewhere further if the shop knows what they are doing. Any recommendations?

do you still have stock motor and 2.87 rear axle ?

Stock motor as of now, plan to change to 383 sometime before the end of the year. I have no idea what gear the rear axle is. I've only had the car a couple weeks. Thanks!!

3:73 gears are great in a 700R4. Any taller and your overdrive won't be worth much to you. Its what im running.

the reason I ask is that the .7 Overdrive with a small 2.87 stock gear and a 190hp motor is a bad combination.. .. you really need more rear gear .. I run a 525HP /383 with 700r4 and a 3.73 gear.. perfect ...

I have the same set-up. Launches nicely & still a cruiser with that 4th gear.
