C3 1975 M400 Auto Transmission fluid help/guidance needed
In the process of replacing the pan gasket and filter. Any recommendations for the type of fluid one should use. The car has a 350 engine with the M400 auto transmission.

read this article, it appears type F for Ford is the best for transmissions prior to 2000 due to lowered viscosity of newer fluids for gas mileage purposes.
