Bilsteins HD on my 1974
Got my Bilsteins this morning and went ahead and installed them. I had almost new Delcos, about 700 miles on them. Our shop is maybe 1/3 of a mile from our home and that's as far as I drove the car back home this evening and the difference is Flat out Unreal!I can tell even the Stance changed a bit!! Cant wait to take a cruise soon. If anyone gets a set remeber that you will get three washers for the front upper hardware they go like this from bottom to top , Thick black Washer, Cushion bushing, then thin washer, then shaft goes thru frame and then cushion again topped with a heavier washer. I learned the hard way.

Nice................to hear you noticed a BIG difference! I say this all the time about Bilsteins and folks often come back with I just want a smooth nice ride so I went with so and so mass market shock and all is good.
Bilsteins offer a great ride (especially the HD's) AND outstanding handling....best of both worlds! I have had HD's in front with 550 springs and Sports in the rear with my 360 composite spring for >15 years now and the ride is unbelievably comfortable, still. I had the 78 out just today.....
I also have Bilsteins on my Chrysler 300, Mustang GT Convertible and 10 C6Z06 (DRM Specially valved Bilstein Sports)....for the money and value, not much touches Bilsteins

Thanks for posting about the Bilstein HD's. Just ordered a set and a front end rebuild kit from Eckler's. The country roads out by me can be a little sketchy and it will be nice to be more confident going into those 90 degree bends... Can you elaborate on the stance change they produced? Higher a bit I would guess?

That sounds good. Was hoping for a slight raise--not a huge noticeable gap in the wheel well. Thanks.
