Default Taking Catalytic converter out..??..

Have a 1982 C3, new headers and dynomax mufflers. Original exhuast with the CAT in-between.. has anyone removed the CAT and gone straight 3 tubbing back (muffler shop recommended)..??.. run ok? Sound different? Thanks

if not required by state smog then toss it

take the cat off .run a long rod thru it to get all the crap out of it .put it back on .cost is nothing.most shops will not touch a cat unless they are replaceing it.It will sound louder.depending on the mufflers you have ,you should not have a problem with the computer light.If you did get a light ,the fix is a heated 02 sensor.
