Default Custom 77 ls swap carb build/ questions

In the next two weeks should my friend will be starting taking the motor out of my 99 Camaro z28 that was totalled. Last few months been getting parts together for the swap and still trying to figure out small odds and ends for this simple swap

1. Is oil pressure and water temp gauge mechanical or electrical, I know from 75 and up the tacks were switched to electrical what about other gauges. I see autometer has a kit for ls swap fittings for mechanical gauges swap

2. Ordered new calipers, pads and brake lines all around since old ones were leaking. Next issue is master cylinder started leaking so looking for replacement in particular chrome any recommendation?

heres three pics of the 77 that I have on my phone has tilt front end and the rest back is stock

My goal for the car will be a cruiser/show car paint is really nice but not perfect, has a small crack on nose and a few rock chips. Eventually will be going performance build cam, 243 heads and rear end but far ways from that right now don't have extra for that right now so Here's a list of what's going in over next upcoming months been going off a few things that are on my 73 and what some done to theres

Ls1 115k miles stock as far as I know
holley dual plane intake 510-300-130
Ls Msd box 121-6014
street demon 1904 750cfm
1/2 inch carb spacer (had already)
motor mount adapters sliding type
Bnm 2500 stall (had already)
jegs fuel system kit 555-100804
champion 3 row aluminum radiators and dual fans
Straight ls1 water neck 2671
180 f thermostat 6368
15x8.5 convo pros
cold air intake chrome aftermarket dual snorkel
flexplate to use turbo 350/400 712500A
ac and heater box delete ebay

Once motor gets taken out the ls1 valve covers will be powder coated either black , silver/gun metal or red not sure yet think a little too much red going on. More pics as process starts and if you have any suggestions on the above two problems let me know

Thanks
Bryan

The oil pressure and temp gauges on your car are both electrical... The oil pressure gauges works on a scale of 0-90 ohms... and the temperature gauge works on a non linear scale you can find on my tech site. Any generic oil pressure sender (or your old one) should work with the car as long as you get one that is for a gauge and not the dummy lamps. The temp gauge... I'd try to re-use the original from the old engine... that's your best bet and if you can't then you can purchase one that is 3/8 npt and the dial it in with the adjustable resistor for the gauge.. (also found on my site).

What you mean carb build? This is a very good fuel injection setup. You would be crazy not to run it. Have to have the computer for ignition anyway.

Willcox I was under the impression that the ls motors vs sbc have different fitting for oil and water temp.

As of right now it's not worth it for me, even though gas is a little high it's more logical for me when someone else is doing majority of the work for me. The less to change the more simple the swap will be and there are other costs to it that due add up when done the right way which was one of the main factors. Plus the way I look at it I should get a majority of my cash back once I sell current 350, 460le, the ls1 intake/throttle body and scrap the Camaro and keep any use able parts. In turn keeps more money in the car fund for future mods or parts which is beneficial

Yes EFI is great but nothing wrong with a well tuned carb they have come a long ways. Doesnt take much to get an LS1 to run. Nice port job, 220ish cam headers youre good. 115k isnt much for an LSx if its been maintained.
