1970 starter wont ingauge after car reassembly
After 15 years apart the car is going back together. Went to turn car over and the only thing that happened was a click from a relay on the firewall. When I honk the horn the horn relay just clicks. I put a remote starter button on the starter and it turns the motor over. My question is could these relays be bad and cause the car not to turn over.

Yes the purple wire is on the inside pole of the starter. I should check the coil wires, I dont know if that would make the starter not in-gauge. I am getting a clicking noise from the rely on the firewall. If that relay is bad could that cause my problem? Thanks for the reply.

[QUOTE=A88FXRS;1597270434]weak or missing ground connection is my guess
The starter turns the motor over with a remote start button attached at the starter. If it was a ground would this work? Thanks!

I'm curious to know exactly what relay on the firewall is clicking when you turn to start. The horn relay is on the left inner fender. The only thing thru it is the key buzzer and the horn, but it does have terminals for the power that is just a junction.

Thanks for the reply. I think it is the wiper motor relay. That is the only relay on the drivers side firewall.
