69 side exhaust fiberglass insulator/mounting
Hello I've got a 69 with factory side exhaust and the fiberglass insulator/mounting piece is broken with a chunk missing on the driver side. I've been searching for a vender that sells individual sides but haven't stumbled upon one yet. I really would like to buy one new one, but i guess i could glass up the broken one. can anybody point me to a vender that might sell me what i want? Thanks

I believe theres another vendor here thats selling them out of california, I dont know if they are new or recycled though. They were selling an original set rechromed and had the insulators as well for extra cash.

It's fiberglass.. why not just glass it back together? When the covers used to come to us from GM, about 1 in 10 would be damaged. While we could just refuse the shipment from GM, most of the time they could have been repaired. It's just my humble opinion, but for 600 bucks I can do a ton of repairs....

For some reason, the old school foil tape that used to be supplied with the fiberglass kits will not stick to the resin... .
So when the fiberglass sets up on the outside, pull the foil tape off the backside... it'll be nice and smooth when you do. Then allow this to cure a while because it'll still be gummy when you pull the tape off... sand it and you'll be fine.
