on the master cylinder what line would be the front brakes ?

The line that is closest to the front of the car. Assuming you still have a factory style cast iron dual reservoir master cylinder on it....and your car is no older than a 1982...due to not knowing what your year model is...and you could have posted this in the wrong section.

Normally, it would be the front chamber and line. But, there is nothing to prevent Bubba or Bozo from doing it backwards.

But with the fitting sizes being different ...that would be stretch for even 'bubba' to do.

I suppose if one was clueless enough, the lines could have been reversed at the proportioning valve which are the same size there. But it would take a plumber of determination.
