Default Question on date codes

I need to find a matching intake manafold and Rochester carb For a 1970 Corvette with a VIN build date of January 30th. With a original big block 454 engine with a date code of December 17th 1969.
What would the date range be for a intake manifold part number 3955287 and a Rochester carburetor part number 7040205?
any help is appreciated.

December 1969 and early January 1970 dates would work for you. The NCRS will accept a six month range prior to your time built code, but dates were usually much closer. The intake manifold was on the engine when it was assembled on the 17th. The carburetor was installed at St. Louis.

Help me here - I thought Intake date codes are hidden under manifold heat shield and not easy to see or verify once installed.

On mine, the intake part number and date code is located on-top of the intake.

That is true for aluminum manifolds, not for cast iron ones.

For my 72 small block I looked at a few original carburetor cars and determined I wanted mine to be dated the month before assembly.

My original intake, on the other hand, predates the assembly date more than anything else on the car- more than 5 full months.
