my passenger door is not opening anymore. After doing some research it seems like I need to replace the whole inner door mechanism. Any tips on how to do this? Found the parts that I think I need. Posted below.
You probably don't need all those parts.
Roll the window down and push down on this part.
Once you get the door open remove the door panel and photograph or describe what you see and someone will guide you.

More than likely you just need the door lock assembly... no rods or anything else unless the ends are bent and causing the problem. Petes picture is spot on for how to get the door open but I'd take it apart first before I bought anything. Years ago I did a write up on how to repair the old locks, I'm not sure if it's still on the forum.
And here is another picture of how to get the door open when it's stuck... the fail safe lever will work even if the door is locked, the issue is getting to it with a long screw driver and depending on the year of the car you may have to bust through the anti theft shields.
