There should be thermostatic switch on the line of your evaporator that opens if evaporator core temperature falls below 33*. Wiring passes through the N/C low pressure cutout switch, then the N/C thermo switch, and then to the compressor clutch. Might be different wire colors from my 77, Lt. green in lpco switch out Lt. blue in to thermo switch out dk. green to clutch.
If you bypass the switch your evaporator will ice up and have no airflow through it. Along with that, there is a good possibility of splitting the evaporator fiberglass housing if the block of ice gets to big.
Anyone have a pict of a Thermostatic Switch mounted?
I'm guessing it can mount against the evaporator fiberglass housing with the sensor line wrapped around the High Pressure line coming from bottom of the housing?
