Default 80 PS Pump removal

Been awhile since I've worked on a C3.... leaking pump so pulled pulled both rear nuts & front bolt, (hoses of course disconnected as well). Anyway, tried wiggling all sorts of ways to get the pump to clear the brackets without success?!?

Do I need to loosen the bracket from the front of the engine block to "spread" the bracket halves & get the pump to clear?? Rear half of the bracket that the upper stud goes into for pivot/belt adjustment appears to be the issue.

TIA!

When I pulled mine, I took the bracket with it so I could repaint it. The pump has the pivot bolt on the bottom and the travel nut on the top rear. The bracket has 2 bolts in the front and 1 nut on the side of the block. I would try backing off the bracket fasteners to try to get some wiggle room because it's tight down there.
