Default Rear strut rods

Are the rear strut rods straight or do the ends have a slight bend in them?

The rods are straight but the bushing ends have a slight angle

The rod shaft itself is straight, but as already stated the bushing ends are slightly offset on my 82 model.

Step one: Loosen cam alignment bolts.
Step two: Cuss, hammer, spray penetrating oil.
Step three: Bend strut rod.

Here is why i asked the question and it was not for alignment! I purchased two used strut rods and had them rebushed. After looking at the rods i found a small twisting of the ends, then i looked at the ones on my car and the ends were larger in size but one rod not the end was bent in the middle The two rods i bought were off a 77 car like mine but i do not know if the FE7 suspension i have on my car gave it larger ends.My car was bought and driven by a Chevrolet mechanic and who knows what he did but i know it was not auto crossed but being a late production car i have found 1978 parts on it .

Just measured my new Moog K6213 strut rods. Pressed in bushings outside to outside (width) 1.6820. All bushing numbers are 63236. Both new strut rods are straight and come with 2 lip washers used on the camber bolt adjustment side. All 75-79 Corvettes used the same strut rod, including your EF7 optioned car.

There should not be a bend in the middle of the rod and they used two different size ends on the strut rods, the smaller one is for 63 through 74, in 75 they started using a large size for the ends.

Mel has it correct. One thing to note, you can use the larger ends on the earlier car but you have to check the fit at the legs of the support and sometimes open them up. I will cover this in my upcoming seminar as well. In extreme travel they could bind if not clear.

I see many people are switching over to heim joints on their strut rods.
Would heim joints add additional stresses to the rods?

Corvair strut rods have a bend at the end, on purpose, for ground clearance. If they have identical bends, perhaps you got a pair of those.

If what you have doesn't fit, consider it the universe telling you to put in heim-jointed strut rods instead (which also work great on a Corvair, FWIW).

My plan is to replace the old 1972 strut rods with adjustable type and I was wondering if anybody had a preference or recommendation on the type of new adjustable type Strut rods.
