Default Half Borgeson conversion

I know there is probably a reason for why this would not work but cant find it. Be gentle when you rip me a new one.

Besides a better ratio for the steering box is there a reason why you cannot eliminate all the "excess" power steering parts and just use the Borgeson drag link adapter and hook the PS pump directly to the factory steering box? Using these parts.

Seems like a lot of the prone leak spots would be eliminated. I know the faster ratio is desirable but I like to do things outside the box. Or can the factory steering box not handle the task without the additional parts. Again be gentle.

The gearbox itself is exactly the same between the manual steer and the power steer c3 setup.
All the PS stuff on a c3 is external to the main box, and all the ps stuff could be all removed, and now you would have manual steering.

There is no way to hook up a ps hose to a stock box, that is what the borgeson is mainly for. The faster ratio is just a plus.

I've speculated that what you propose is a legit way to convert to manual steering. The stock box is manual, though. The "surplus" PS parts are independent add-ons.

Manual steering is great in these cars, unless you are autocrossing.
