Default Fiberglass floor repair

So I ordered up a new carpet set and begin to tear down the interior and....my driver floor board is fall off. It appears to have come undone at the seam but is saggimg a lot. I obviously want to address this before I put the new carpet in. Is this an easy repair? Any advice on how I should do it?

Hey Nick
We just completed some patch work on a 69 floor pan, under the seat area. Repairs were made with 3M Bondo 422 Fiberglass Resin Repair Kit. This kit comes with the heavy matting fiberglass. It really did a good job but good ventilation is a must. It looks like the floor has detached from the body. What's going on with the underside? Both sides?

You might want to clean up the old stuff and surrounding are before you start. The products mentioned above worked great for my 69 restore.

if you can get something underneath and sort of set the card down on it just right so it presses the floorboard firmly back into place, then you can do the repair from on top. Fiberglass is a lot less messy when you're not holding it up over your head trying to stick it to something while it's tripping in your face. Don't ask me how I know. Plus, the fiberglass repair is not going to show cuz there's going to be a rug and maybe some Dynamat in the way. Can baby get underneath and do one quick layer just to close up the crack on the outside.

Sort of like this. Some way to even the crack back before stating.

Thanks for the advice. I'm thinking I'll use a jack to push up the floorboard so it's level and then repair from up top. I another layer from underneath if it doesn't feel strong enough.

This is floorboard where your feet are? Not where the seat sits? It doesn't have to be that sturdy. It is a footrest, not a place to stand. while the rug is out, you might want to consider some kind of thermal-sound insulation underneath. Dynamat is quite pricey. Home Depot and Lowe's has a less expensive version of it.

With the others, that stuff is easy to use, sand and make look good if need be. Repaired a fan shroud of all things, cant even tell it was fixed & super strong.

I was considering doing the sound and heat insulation but thought it was pretty expensive. Good call on checking out local home improvement stores, ill have to take a look.
