1980 birdcage removal: Glue locations? Lift off idea?
This is all new to me and very fun! Today, removed the firewall. Want to remove the rear fiberglass from the b'cage next. Since the floor of the cage is metal along with the rest of b'cage, I'm thinking, once the glue is cut, the entire rear section can be lifted off the cage (or the b'cage dropped). I have removed all the rivets that secure the floor of the rear fiberglass section to the lower part of the b'cage (the battery box/jack storage area) and cut all the glue/sealer. The striker plate area rivets are removed and the glue the secures the bottom of this to the sill cover is cut. Where are other glue areas that will need to be cut to facilitate my idea? Anyone done it this way?
Firewall removed.
Striker plate cover detached from sill cover.
Birdcage sans firewall.
Storage area glue cut from bottom rear of B'cage.
Glue location on roll hoop.
