Default C5 Airbridge for LS Swap?

Has anyone had any luck using a C5 airbridge on their LS Swaps? I picked one up pretty cheap on eBay hoping I could use it on my swap in my Ď81, but canít see anyway possible right off the bat. I was hoping to do something like in the picture, but it appears that even if I cut the radiator support like that, the filter will hit the hood when itís up.
Anyone successfully do this?

Go to the c3s for sale and find the 1980 autocross posting. He has an air bridge on his. Send him a pm, maybe he can help you out.

Could get a radiator "cut- down"- not even mess with the surround-

But if you have A/C, you will need to replace the condenser too.

There's plenty of room to move it down-
Granted- it will take some work-like redoing the lines. But doing something as major as a LS swap -more than likely need new AC lines anyway.

Yes, I put an air bridge CAI on my '80 when I installed a FAST EZ 1.0 EFI. It was a pretty straight forward mod using parts available on eBay and some angle iron and square tubing. I cut out part of the radiator mount after I mocked up a dropped center section. I ovalized some stainless steel bands (Spectre?) inside the 4" round silicone tubing in front of the radiator to make room for the hood when it's opened. You can see the ovalized area in the 4th picture:

I should explain that I had to use 4" silicone tubing because the Spectre 98499 single low profile plenum I used has a 4" inlet and the Vararam VR Power Duct fits inside 4" tubing too. I might still have a stock C5 air bridge in a bin somewhere, but I don't remember what diameter tubing it fits. I'd use tubing the same size as the LS intake inlet if I was installing an LS.

I also tried a C4 intake, but I gave up trying to make the angles and ovalized duct to work for the low profile plenum I had to use to fit under the stock '80 hood.

Please post pictures of how this project goes. You might set a standard for C3 LS installs.
