How can i stop my blower motor from running on low
As stated above I would like to be able to shut off the blower motor when not needed for heat or a/c.

What yr? 1976 and earlier just spin both dials forward to off and blower stops. I cant remember for sure but I think just shutting the left dial off will shut the blower off .

Yup it's a 76 and just installed a new blower switch but still get blower when key is on. I was hoping there was a wire I could remove aka cut and cap under the hood rather then take the console apart again to get the heater controls out.

With the dials off the blower should also be off. You got something else going I believe.

If you take your control plate off where rotaries are and look underneath you will find two relays (switches) one is master switch and other I do not remember name but master switch is where it shuts off. If you turn rotary dial to off you will see the contact move. If it doesn't most vendors have them

YES...just pull the wire off the blower motor and it will stop running.

Thanks Dub, i was trying to keep the option to use the heater in the mornings when it's 20 degrees out but not so necessary in the afternoon when it'd 55 degrees out. I will take the controls out this weekend and check out the relay switch and make sure it is breaking the contacts when the controls are in the off position. Thanks everyone for the help.

I am not sure if the 76 is the same as a 72, but if it is, I think if you disconnect the yellow wire at the resistor block at the passenger firewall it will disable low speed. When you select low the fan would stop.
I wrote up a comprehensive wiring /trouble shooting guide for the earlier c3s at
https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...scription.html
which may help.

Or simply and CAREFULLY unplug the entire connector that goes to the resistor on top of your evaporator core case...it will kill the blower motor....or unplug the connector to your high speed fan relay also will do it if I am not mistaken..
YES the control in a 1972 and a 1976 are the same in the console for an A/C car.

Yes, as mentioned above about the yellow wire, in the resistor pack, I can't verify the color of the wire, but I remember doing same on my '72 many years ago.....I just got into the wiring block and figgered out how to pull the offending wire/clip without cutting it.....these daze for many many years now, I use just two speeds, but the console is totally modified....

After reading thru lots of threads and seeing how much Bubba had done to other cars I think he might have had a hand in mine also. In the three months I have owned my 76 I have fixed many things that i found answers to on the forum thru the search engine but most have been little stupid things. While I am not trying to build a show car I am trying to build a safe, reliable fun car to drive that I am not afraid to jump in and take off for weekend or longer and not have to have a tow company's number on speed dial. While I am not there yet I think with everyone's help when I get stuck I will get there. Thanks again

My ‘77 Vette does this as well...unless my ownership experience needs to be retrained...I just excepted that it as a feature of the Positve Exchange Of Cabin Air.... for a complete air exchange of 8 to 10 times per hour.

In 77 they changed the temp controls so it might just work that way for 77-82 .Maybe?

Your year model (1977) is different than the earlier year models so you cannot compare it to them. 1977-1982 will have the fan run on a low at all times...if I am not mistaken.
