When wiring anything in my shop......I use non-insulated butt connectors from TE Conductivity....and the AMP crimping tool. the appropriate shrink tube goes over the connection. I like them because they take up a LOT less space and are easy to use where soldering is just not viable.......I pretty much use them for everything.
The crimper is not cheap.......but after you use one......it is tough to go back........They are great for wire multiple wires inside conduit!

Priceless for working on C3 Corvettes (and I brought it for my C4, because those are a bitch to work on too!). All of 3" long, very nice handle, well built and a 60 tooth gear design. This thing is very smooth, precise and it's all of $13 on Amazon. Don't leave your toolbox without it. I used it to get behind the pulley on the serpentine belt drive, to get the bottom waterpump off. You weren't getting a 3/8 socket in there, and a combo wrench would've been a bitch! Oh, it's a Titan brand 1/4" micro ratchet and with 60 teeth, it is very, very precise.

Nice. Those 1/4 inch kits are great to have. Flexible (looks like a wound cable) extension makes impossible stuff...possible.
