Default 1969 Convertible - After Market A/C Panel?

Has anyone ever seen an AC/Heater control panel like this?

The previous owner installed AC on what was a non-AC car and it works great, but I am looking at this panel and simply have not found it on any site...original, repop, NOTHING. Any input?

Thanks!

Are you asking about the labeling on the plastic piece?

Yes, that's correct...trying to figure out where it came from (and if I need to replace it before NCRS flighting), but NO luck yet.

Thanks!

I think vintage air has a distinct plate. Perhaps that was a different aftermarket air conditioning company's plate. Hot Rod Air, perhaps?

My Hot Rod Air used the same controls and did not change the plastic label piece.... So, unless some came with a whole controller, including plastic label piece, then it's not Hot Rod Air.

By the way, last time I disassembled my A/C (previous fall) I painted that metal piece with POR-15 silver......but then again, I'm not an NCRS guy and I disliked that corroding metal.

I found one picture from super Chevy sight where they put AC in a 72. Looks the same font and words.

It looks like a vintage Air Control insert.

You take apart the control and insert their clear plastic panel. I put Vintage Air in my 71 and it looks the same..

YES!! It's from Vintage Air!!

So, now with that mystery solved, has anyone gone through NCRS flighting with an after-market AC unit like this one installed? Since it was after market, the unit is on the "wrong" side of the firewall, so that's gonna be a ding, but obviously I am NOT going to remove the AC system here in Texas heat!

I plan to blast that corroded piece this weekend...I was wondering what color to use, so THANK YOU. Appreciate the tip! (yes, like you, I would rather have some minor color deduction on a piece that shouldn't be seen than have it continue to corrode!)

For most of the parts I use Rust oleum 7777 Satin Black. On both my cars they appear to be natural metal. Like the inside of a coffee can.

For NCRS - best guess is to blast it and clear it with satin.
