Bairs Corvettes
I just had Bairs rebuild and or replace the driveshaft and everything behind it. Diff, leaf spring, trailing arms, brakes, axles, bushings, everything. They also rebuilt or replaced the front brakes, steering box, PS ram, tie rods, bushing, etc.
No pics yet, I have not picked it up yet. I can't wait to drive this new 79 Corvette. I can not wrench on cars anymore due to severe arthritis so the cost is worth it to me and fair. I have no plans on getting rid of this car. Bairs is a great shop to work with.
I still want to have the automatic transmission rebuilt and then the L48. Can't decide on rebuilding it or getting a crate 290HP or 350HP motor.
It needs a paint job or a wrap too. I have more money invested in this car than in my C5 Z06! I have nicknamed the 79 The Moneypit. Come on Spring.

I had them rebuild my differential with 3.70 gears years ago. The UPS return shipment somehow dropped the unit, and broke it. Bairs built me a new unit, and delivered it to my door personally in the trunk of his car.
This is what I call outstanding customer service.

They are great people and I just dropped off a reproduction steering wheel in the correct color and offset along with a new turn signal swith.
Got a quick peek at the new suspension.

Bairs did a fine job with my trailing arms. I'd do the rotor runout myself next time, but there's nothing wrong with the job. Fast, and high quality.
Your Vettes look great. There may be no better looking Vette than a black 79. Enjoy the drive!

Had a bad experience with Bairs many years ago and haven't used them since. Sent them the original power steering control valve from my '66 for rebuilding. They kept my original and sent me some generic part.

Bairs was great to deal with, would definitely buy from them again.

When I bought my 75 I took it to Bairs and asked Brian Bair if he would evaluate it for me. He sent Mike out with me for a test drive and then put it on the lift to check underneath. There were 3 mechanics under the car with me showing me what to look for and pointed out the leaking steering assist valve. The guys said I had a very solid car with many miles left on it. All this was done at no charge. The most valuable service they have is free advice any time I have a problem. I live only 30 miles away and can pop in anytime i have a question and Brian or Mike will always help me out. The up stairs of the shop is a treasure trove of used C3 parts. If you need anything original and don't mind good used, chances are it is up there. I'll be at their show in May, rain or shine.

I agree 100%. I had things on my 79 I know needed work but when Mike and the orher two mechanics got it up on the lift they pointed out a couple of things that also needed work. I never had it up on a rack before and wasn't aware of some of the issues they pointed out. Glad I agreed with all the work they suggested because now I have a safe car I can drive anywhere.
