This is just an example. If you know the manufacturers name google the bushing. the above for instance fit a 1.460 outside and .397 inches inside hole and 1.972 width.
It has been my life time experience that if the bushing looks like that the inside probably does also and I just replace them. Way back when I used to have KYB gas adjust shocks and they worked good enough for spirited driving. Then I needed adjustable. so I went to Koni adjustables and sold to someone here on the forum because the three choices wasn't what I was wanting and I replaced them with dual adjust QA1 on the rear.

Honestly, they look like they could be the originals. They came from the factory with that greyish blue grey color. If they are, you should save them, they are worth some money to the NCRS restorer.

You can pull the shocks and see how much resistance they have on compression and rebound compared to a new shock

I've never seen a bushing wear out BEFORE the shock absorber was "toast"! I guess it could happen. But I think your best bet would be to replace those shocks with some modern gas shocks. Better ride, better control.
If having the original shocks on there is important to you. consider having the casings rebuilt. Yes, they can do that. Expensive, but doable.

You won't regret Bilsteins.

True! But, Monroe-Matics would be better than those old hydraulic shocks....even if they still work!

I have Sports on mine, with spring rates comparable to a gymkahana suspension. I thought the other Bilstein option was "HD", not "comfort".
I'd read a few other threads to get a better opinion. You'll likely want to match the springs to the shocks, though. "HD" may be just right for stock springs, but I can't speak to that.

Look at 4x4 companies. popular upgrades on trucks. I bought some from SkyJacker. See this thread.

Here we go. I went with adjustable Koni´s.
And here some pics of the old ones. There is "Gabriel" stamped in it, and "Made in USA". Are these aftermarket shocks?
