Default Any such thing as lighter rated throttle springs?

The previous owner put double springs on the carb linkage as a safety backup in case one breaks but it makes the pedal really stiff. I like the idea of redundant springs but do they come in different strengths so I can have the double springs without a stiff pedal?

A lot of racing events require dual throttle return springs for safety as you mentioned, GM also used a two spring throttle return spring combo on a lot of applications which were comfortable for every day driving. I carry a spare spring in case of a failure as I also find the dual return spring combo on mine to be to stiff for street driving. T

To answer your question, yes they do come in different lengths and different spring rates. I found that I had to measure what I thought I needed and then order a couple of dual spring setups like these and just figure out which length/spring rates felt the best.

I highly recommend the dual spring setup,

Keep it redundant ... BUT

If the springs seem too heavy ... maybe the throttle cable is kinked / bent / corroded etc ... and heavier springs are a band-aid.

-edit-
also, pedal can be bound up from ill-fit carpet / mat / dirt
