Default LT1 Exhaust Question

Does anybody know if the OEM exhaust system on a 71 LT1 included a heat riser on the right exhaust manifold. My car has SS pipes coming straight out of the manifolds without even a spacer. I know heat risers are not really needed in a warm climate but I'm curious if they were originally included in case I decide to replace the exhaust with a more accurate system.

Yes it did. Here is the exhaust system from the assembly manual. This manual, also called the AIM is one of the books worth to help you figure out how your car was put together.

Yes, all LT-1s had the heat riser. I removed mine and blocked off the exhaust crossover through the intake manifold.
