Default Adding dual exhaust to a C3

I went one day last week and had duall exhaust put on my stock 81. They took out the catalytic converter and ran 2 new pipes to the rear, with new magnaflow mufflers.
My question is how does this affect the rest of the engine and smog system, because wasn’t that line on the converter somehow tied to the smog pump?

I assume you are in a state that doesn't emissions test your year? Cuz the way you say smog implies California. I can't see a shop removing your cat in a state that does smog testing on that year. In fact, I cant see a shop pulling the cat even without emissions. The stuff is still required to be installed. But to your question, at this point I would store the AIR pump with the cat...

That’s correct, I live in Texas. And a part of Texas that doesn’t require any emission tests.
But my question was , is the system on the car basically doing nothing since the cat has been removed

The AIR pump is mainly used to light off the cats when they're cold.

So without the cat being there, the whole system is basically doing nothing now right?

Pretty much. It's not hurting anything, but it's not doing anything, either.

You can remove the pump but keep it and all parts if needed later. Your pump outlet went right into the cat if I recall correctly where my 80 had the pump inject into the manifolds. I removed my pump also.

Is your car still running the computer controlled carb and distributor? Don't think this will matter though.
