Hurst T Handle threads
Hey guys, I just purchased this for the M21 in my 1970. It doesn't seem to fit the threads on the shift lever. It's supposed to be "universal" and comes with literally 13 thread adapters, but none of them fit my shifter. Unbelievable.
Hoping someone's run into this, and can help me with which thread adapter/reducer I need. Thanks very much!

"Incredibly simple to install." Guess it's not as advertised. I would like an answer to your question also and how the reverse lockout is handled.

I think the thread is 55/64 not 9/16. Been a while, working with a C3 with OEM shifter other than changing it out for a Hurst. Most people upgrade to a Hurst Comp. I thinking it may be 9/16 but has a recessed cut into the handle. Maybe someone who has replaced one recently will chime in.

I've had a few issues like this recently and rethread the adapters to fit the shift lever. Just find one of them that has a similar but smaller size hole and relatively close threads so you arent removing too many threads or metal

Thanks for they replies. Seems that this would be easily fixed with the correct thread adapter, if I could determine what these two threads are: 1) top of the shift lever, and 2) inside the Hurst shifter T handle. I have thread gauges but they only go up to 1/2 inch, which is too small. Same with my taps - I have nothing over 1/2 inch.
resdoggie, the handle just sits on top of the shift lever, like the original shift ****. It doesn't seem like it would interfere with the reverse lockout.
