Default 1975 auto neutral safety switch

I am trying to finish up a winter project of putting in new carpeting in my 75 auto and figured I would tackle why my reverse lights are not working. I know it is tied into the neutral safety switch so when I went to investigate i noticed that it has been bypassed. I see how the purple wires go together, but I can not find any other connector for the bundle of pink wires. The green/pink wires are already connected together. I also have 2 other connectors that lead a bit further back that I have no clue where they go. Any help would be appreciated.

on my 72...

The green and pink wires are the reverse lights, only show continuity in the reverse gate position
The pink w/white and pink (same pink wire as above) wires show continuity in drive (3,2 and 1) so they must be related to the seat belt reminder circuit

The 75's had that goofy seat belt interlock system. Someone was probably trying to bypass that system.

Thanks for the information. I tried hooking up the purple wires and the car would not start, I’m not sure if the switch is bad or not. I don’t see how the gear shifter and switch interact with one another, any ideas? I hate to put it back together with it bypassed and I also hate to spend $100 on a switch that doesn’t need replacing

The switch has a tab on the underside that goes onto a pin that's on the shifter

You can easily test the switch with a meter or test light & some jumper wires to see if it connects in the park position, there is some adjustment in the position as well
