I'm having a Tremec 5 speed installed in my 81. While they had the console apart, I asked them to install my new carpet that I really didn't want to do myself.

They did a nice job with the carpet, but now both seats have locked seatbacks. Prior to their work, the seats folded flat without ever latching in the upright position. There is no button on the 81 seats, as far as I can tell.

Can someone please tell me what's up with this?

Smack the seatback from the front. Works on mine.
