The flare inside the MC that you mentioned is cast iron just like the entire unit. That flare would be tough to damage unless somebody stuck a hardware bolt in there as a temporary plug and ruined the shape.

Bikespace is right, either ZIP or Keen should have the rear line only. Make sure it is the exact yr you need as the Proportioning Valve got relocated over the years. Stay away from stainless, its not worth the trouble.
