Where does this capacitor go
The blade of this capacitor was sandwiched behind the clock’s back plate. I am guessing that’s not where it is supposed to go, is it ?

Yes. Thanks. I had gone through these links and didn’t find an unequivocal answer. Clock or ammeter. Still no idea where it connects.
Maybe once i put it together I’ll find a vacant connector ?

What puzzles me is that the capacitor seems to be on the ground side; there is a black wire with male spade on one side and the other is grounded to the clock’s back plate. I always thought the things went on power side, that current had to go through it to activate the device.

Mmmm. That wiring seems to make it a power (storage) capacitor. For the clock ? Hmmmmm

Clock capacitor
@...Roger...
This seems to make the most sense to me.

"The clock capacitor. I think its bolted to the correct spot but the brass end on the black wire will slide inside the power wire when you put it on the clock spade. The cap should stop the clicking when the clock rewinds when on AM radio."

So far overall I do like it... but, indeed, the volume **** is a bit sensitive. the fade and tone ***** seem a little wobbly. I tried to fix the backing with felt. I was mildly successful.
I wonder how well it takes calls.
