Default Cal Custom Air Cleaner Scoop Element

Looking for suggestions on a filter I can trim to fit this scoop? Only location I have room for a filter is in the front where the 4 holes are.

I had one of those when i was 17 back in 83!!!! It had a thin foam strip that went in the front. Mine had a few screws that held the front on and you just pulled it off and pulled the foam to wash it.

I would look at a crafts store or Amazon for a 1/8 inch thick open cell foam strip you can cut to fit.

Something like this you can bolt in then cut the extra hanging out

Thanks, I just bought a filter made for those triangle Edelbrock air cleaners. Its large enough for me to get at least 2 filters from.

Back to looking for a filter again.

Edelbrock filter was too restrictive. Car stumbling/bogging at heavy throttle.
Switched back to old air cleaner she ran fine.
Switch back to scoop without any filter and she ran fine.

Beginning to think the scoop was a bad idea.

I wonder if the “universal fit” prefilter material for HEPA filters would be too restrictive. It’s cheap and would actually be fairly effective.

Thats the direction I'm thinking too. I'll hit up the local hardware store this week and see what I can come up with.

I believe it may hurt my HP no matter what I use. I'm not planing on running the scoop all the time but I would like to throw it on for some local shows.

you could just bring it to the show and throw it on once you're there and parked

That is a last resort. I thought about that yesterday, but it seems dishonest for some reason.

I've cut a 2" hole in bottom of scoop behind secondaries. Adding another filter secured with hardware cloth. You can't see it when installed.
Hoping that will add some needed air. Gonna test it later today after wife wakes for night shift.
