TH400 VIN Number
I have a 1971 with a TH400 and am trying to find the VIN number on the transmission. I have heard it is on the left side but have not been able to find it yet.
Is it stamped on the case on the flat of the pan flange or further up on the case from the pan flange. Any distance from the tail shaft or bell housing would be helpful to find it as well if it is on the flange or just above the flange on the case.
