sorry if i,am getting to be a pain in the ###. when i purchased my vette 18 months ago it has been a challange. to many fingers in the pot, i replaced the HEI dist ordered a set of wires to go under the headers from summit racing. took it all to my mechanic, he installed them and said no way would the wires go under the headers not long enough, so he routed them over the headers, as a result i had to wrap the factory headers look like S###. so i now have a set of hookers in my garage, but I need to know the length off the plug wires so i can make a set of the correct length wires, searched the inter net with no results
You're going to make a set?
Just do 1 at a time and custom fit.
Want to buy? Maybe a make your own custom kit is the answer for the best possible fit/look.
yes i will be making my own wires TAYLOR 8mm, i do not have the originals to copy. I ordered from summit 40 feet of red TAYLOR 8mm and all the fittings
Not sure the OEM length of the wires used on your year but after trying a couple different sets of so called "OEM" fit wires for my 77 I went with the 30' roll of 8mm Taylor Spiro-Pro wire and Taylor HEI and 90* spark plug boot ends.
Using the factory routing path cutting each wire longer then the OEM length, Installing spark plug boot end, labeling each wire it is just trim the HEI end for a perfect fit.
Prices have gone up a little since I noted prices on my sheet. Most colors are now available using the 30' bulk roll. I had around 2' left of the 30' roll when I cut each wire to the extra long length. https://www.jegs.com/webapp/wcs/stor...rsistYmm=false

No need to copy. Most cut to length have the spark plug end installed. Attach to plug. Route wire where you want it. Mark it. Cut and install distributor end. Install.

This. I invested in a plug wire crimper, money well spent.

I bought the custom MSD set, started at the plug, put in the shielding and cut when I got to the cap...even cut them a little long just in case...Just label them at the plug and when they get to the cap so theres no mistakes when you cut them to reach the furtheresst towers
