I am pretty sure that it will........I have a drop base on mine that I ran on the Holley and it fits the demon just fine...I did however have to run a 1/2 inch phenolic spacer in order to clear the rear vacum ports
[QUOTE]Thanks Alwyn678!! How do you like the Demon comparied to the holley?
I LOVE THE DEMON.............................Perfor mance from the 650 demon is much better than the Holley in almost every aspect except starting..By the way my drop base is not stock it is from summit.probably similar though
Yes. I'm running the L88 drop base which is the same base as the LT-1 on my Demon 850dp. Not sure about the 650 you're looking at, but I had to dimple the inside of the vent tube on the pass side to clear the carb's linkage. If you use a spacer, you probably wouldn't have to but I wanted to avoid any possibility of hood clearance issues with the wingnut since I already have a spider crack on the hood from the previous owner! :mad
BTW, previous owner told me after tinkering with the Holley and then getting the Demon, he'd never run a Holley again.
If I had it to do over again I would try the 750 Vac Sec Speed Demon. I presently use the chokeless versions of the 750 speed D. and the 825 Race Demon.
The 750 fit under my stock 79 hood on top of a Weiand Excelerator single plane with a drop base 3 X 14 open element K&N filter. It barely touched the hood insulation on the top front of the chrome air cleaner
Marks69BB - I have that same darned spider crack in the hood from the previous owner. I really hate looking at it :mad . I just took my hood off last night to start the engine swap and I'm so tempted to see if they can match the paint and repaint the hood. Maybe if I can sell my old engine for enough I could use that for repaint.
mpro72vette - I think we are going to have the exact same setup. I've got a Speed Demon 750 vac secondary and I believe we ordered the same engine from AR. Would be interesting if they are the same setup to see how they dyno/time in 1/4.

Tshort, I would be very interested in seeing how yours goes, we do have the same engine. You will have yours running before me, keep me updated. I just picked my engine up tonight. As soon as I unload it from my truck I will take some pics, it looks great!

Re: Demon Carb? (mpro72vette)
We're running BG 750 Speed Demon DPs on all the 427 C2 cars in the CCC (Colorado Corvette Crazies - the ultimate corvette tuning and beer drinking fraternity). We have measured 15hp improvements over properly set up Holleys when we switch to the BG Speed Demons. The height on the BG is the same as the Holley, so it's a direct swap with the air cleaner. We have a bunch of numbers-matching Holleys sitting in boxes here now.... I doubt they'll ever be used again.
