Where is the proper location for the clutch linkage pivot ball. Is it above the oil filter housing on the block or on the bell housing?
My old bell housing is damaged and I have a replacement, but this doesn't have the threaded hole on the bell housing like the original.
I currently mounted it on the block but I'm not sure if that's the correct location for it. Don't want to buy the bell housing if I can't use it.
If it mounts on the block, then I can use the replacement I have.
When I bought this Bell Housing for my SB 4-Speed conversion (460486), Stud was mounted on it.
I believe this bell was designed for trucks, so different vehicle means different placement. No?
this is the bad bell housing? you had the z-bar mounted to that pivot? cuz it is a couple of inches south of where the other side mounts to the frame of the car. it had to be at a wierd angle and i am surprised the clutch worked. unless somebody relocated the frame-side pivot. in which case this could get unpleasant. do you have a pic of your z bar mounted in the car or of the outboard pivot point? i guess the trans is out. does your car have a removable crossmember?
