I have the wiper assembly out and all the screws out off the panel but it won't come out of the bottom. Is there a screw or something underneath the radio that you have to unscrew to get it out?
Thanks
There are two studs on the bottom of the bezel where it connects to the console. You can get at them with a small socket (biggest PITA of the whole process).
you need to go in through the side of the console panel access doors.
That exactly what is going on. My stock radio had a bracket which mounted the back of the radio to the tranny tunnel to keep stress off the plastic face plate of the center console.
For my year, I would only have had to remove the shifter console side carpet to get to this bracket with ease. I did this during a complete interior resto though, so much more was removed.
Once you remove the stock radio , if you install an aftermarket, which is much smaller in dimensions, you have have a ton of room under there. I fabricated another bracket for the back of the new Sony CD player to give that a nice solid mount.
