He only talked about the outside wheel, it is the inside wheel that presses the yoke into the differential in a turn.

Sorry guy's. Anyway I cracked a bunch of posi units where the pin goes through the case. I just thought that what the posi case needed was larger pins to spread the weight out. Sometime after that I heard about Tom's differentials selling quality C-3 rear end parts. Their top of the line posi units addressed the problems.

Welcome to the Forum!

You may get a much better response if you start a new thread with your question, and include a picture of your ride, including what you already have. Also include details like the year, engine, and transmission.

Cheers!

It hurts my thrifty being to say this but I wouldn't use either of those high arch springs. Bought a 66 with Vette Brakes spring and ride height looks great. Bought a 71 with TRW spring and rear was way too high and with smaller than stock diameter tires looked terrible. Fiddled with spacer at diff and 10 inch bolts (don't like them) to get height to factory specs. Cant advise you what spring rate to get but Id make sure its low arch.

The ends of the stub shafts wear during normal driving because that is when they are under pressure supporting the car weight plus they are also continually rubbing against the cross shaft.

The posi case is likely to split under high load because that is when the spider gear teeth are climbing the side gear teeth and forcing the case to spread.

The half shafts u-joints are more likely to break under high load when the suspension is compressed. That would be the soft spring allowing the suspension to compress too much.

It makes me curious how a post that doesn't exist got quoted.

There's no secret to the HTML code. You can use them many different ways. I've seen plenty of quotes where the original post has been deleted. You can also quote sources from other threads, or even other websites.

I should have posted why, not how.

Coincidentally, Van Steel just called and said my 330# spring will be here Saturday. I ordered it so long ago I completely forgot. I look forward to comparing it to the other three.

Ha! I think you'll be happy with the ride height, and the spring rate when paired with Bilstein Sports. Assuming your front end isn't to far beyond stock.

Please post an update when you get it installed, and on @leigh1322's thread, too!

My Vansteel rear spring arrived today. It’s actually a 360# and it’s quite a bit different from the others. Less arch and much narrower on the ends than the other two. I’ll be installing it later this week.

Notice how wide the ends of the Hyperco (Ridetech) and TRW springs are as compared to the Vansteel spring.

This one is 1/2” narrowed on each end and 360#. I also got their rear spring plate and QA1 rear shocks to match my front QA1 coilovers.

I’ll post ride height differences later this week. More to come!

Thanks for the update! It looks a lot like the VB&P spring. Hopefully it performs just as well!

You're right. It does look like a VBP spring.
