If your mechanical advance is "all in" by 2200 rpm, you need to install HEAVIER springs, not lighter. Heavier springs will delay ignition advance so you can be "all in" between 2600-3000 rpm. Advance at that point (where mechanical advance will NOT increase with higher rpm) should be at 34 degrees BTDC.
