I'm trying to adjust my camber after about a year on my new suspension install. I've been running autocross and it's about time. The driver's side is incredibly hard to adjust though. Using a short cheater pipe to turn my wrench.. The passenger side is not much effort. Is my driver's side bent? Am I doing the adjustment wrong? I have the car up in the air, lock nuts loose, make adjustments, then put it down and roll it around to check if I got it right..
thanks!
I've seen folks use two cutting boards under the tires with grease between them while doing adjustments. I think the problem is in your threads, not the tire friction. I am 90% sure I used anti-sieze on my threads, since the jam-nuts do all the work of holding the adjustment.
Perhaps you'll find a galled thread, corrosion, or some other issue?
Do I need to have the suspension loaded to adjust them? Jacking on the trailing arm would take spring pressure off the adjustable link right?
No. Not really,,,, bout the same as if on the tire..
. I use a large piece of hardwood blocking under the differential and spring plate and jack there to lift tires off the ground. Slide my jack stands under frame on both right and left sides but do not rest on them. They are just for safety when I’m under the car. Loosen the locking nuts, and both right and left adjust by hand. . . If not, you have othe issues.
