Ive always used BLEECH WHITE spray. It will make your tires look like new.

I spray the dry tires and rims and immediately wipe them off with a dry towel. I do this before I wash the car so there is no cleaner residue left on the tires or rims once Im done washing it.

I have heard rumor that this stuff could do a number on aluminum rims. Ive never had any trouble with it though. Still use it to this day.

Brent.....

They will "scrub" with soap and an old toothbrush, but I use White Spirit... very sparingly. Alas, I'm not too sure what you guys call that... is it Wood Alcohol? It doesn’t have the rubber softening properties of thinners so doesn’t harm the tyres.

I then use Meguiars High Performance on the tyre, taking care to clean off any darkening that gets onto the white letters immediately. Even in our weather over here they stay looking good for a quiet a while!

I use the Blech White but spray it on a rag first and apply it to the tire only. The warnings on the bottle scared me enough to only get it where I want it. I let that sit for a minuteand then scrub with a brush wet with my car soap. I use a wheel cleaner to cut the brake dust if needed.

I scrub mine with comet and leave them natural. I’ve used other products and I always come back to comet.

Just go into the kitchen and get an SOS pad and scrub and rince. Purple Stuff also works great. Hershey :chevy

Clorox Cleanup spray cleaner works great on the white as well as the rest of the tire, not sure of its effect on aluminum wheels

grab an SOS pad from under the kitchen sink! They work great :yesnod:. Simple Green automotive cleaner/degreaser is pretty good on tires too, but is better for paint.

I wet the tires and spray carpet cleaner foam and scrub them with a soft horse hair brush, rinse dry and then use the bleach white on a rag doing each letter by hand. Follow up with your favorite tire dressing. Lately I've been using a Turtle wax product to make the tires shiny. The local Honda Dealer uses the same stuff and it seems to last a lot longer than anything else I've used.

Comet or Bon Ami and a scrub brush. They aren't sexy and expensive, but they work well. They also don't harm anything, like the slivers of steel wool from the SOS or Brillo pads that can get on your rag.

What would you guys suggest to clean the rims? Mine have sort of runs in them that don't come off when I clean the wheel normally.

When I first saw this thread...I was thinking to myself the following:

1. Pour bleach on the asphalt;
2. back into just enough o cover rear tires
3. Pull forward
4. Bring RPMs up to say 3k
5. Dump clutch
6. Drive till smoke goes away
7. Tires Clean!
