Default Seat Solutions?

As I was driving to the gym, I saw a yard sale with some seats that looked pretty good.
Imagine my surprised when I asked how much and was told free! WTF
I don't know what they came from?

The seats have bolsters and are in good shape except for a rip in one.
I plan on putting sheepskin seat covers either way.
The seats are 21" at their widest.
The base/tracks are there, but will need mods.

Any advice?

take out your seats and set them in and see how they fit. then climb in and see if you fit over the side support and under the t-top-convert top. and see how high up you are once in the car. then decide if you are gonna try to fab a way to attach your tracks to the seats or the seats tracks to the floor. taking off the tracks the seats came with will lower them probably quite a bit. at NO POINT do you pay for upholstery on ANY non orig seat until you have mounted it and driven it. you may find you hate it. if you are out 400 bucks for upholstery you will hate them 400 bucks more...

Agree. Test fit them first. Free seats. that's the best price!

take off you seat tracks from your seat. Bolt them back down to the floor or take the pattern off you old seats and lay that on the new seats and see if they are remotely close..

Enjoy them IF you can make them work with your particular model!

I still miss the Recaro's that came with my VW Scirocco back in 1980. Those seats made you feel "glued in" and provided hours and hours of comfortable seating. My brother tried a pair of Sparco Race Seats in a Porsche 914 and I could not fit my hips into them so I couldn't drive the car once the seats were installed.

I hope that you are able to find a way to enjoy them in your Corvette! It is a shame you don't know what kind of car they came from, that would make life a bit easier!

I purchased a set of C5 Z06 seats for my 74. I then purchased a kit that adapts the C5 seats to the C3 tracks.

I bet you could use the same adapter set and fabricate holes as needed to make them work with the seats you got for free.

I tried but couldn’t add a link so I took a snapshot.

I bought my set used on the CF but at a sizable discount.

Best of luck!
