Default Engine Code 1972 LT1

Can anyone direct me to find out what the engine block is in my LT1?

It is a 3970010 block. On the rear passenger side, it is cast L194.
On the front passenger side is stamped CE5204, along with the number 69.

Anyone got any ideas? I heard that the engine was replaced at some point but I suppose the CE number meant it might have been warranty work.
The VIN is 1Z37L2S502342.
Thanks
Pierre

"Chevrolet Engine", factory replacement, over the counter purchase from parts department or warranty engine. You will not be able to get any more information about what's in it. Look inside is all you can do.

I believe the casting date is December 19, 1974 if I'm remembering letter/number system correctly.

When I bought my '69 back in 1979 it had a CE stamped engine. It turned out to be a 1970 LT-1. I replaced it with a zz502 about 20 years ago, but still have the CE engine.

The “5” immediately after CE indicates that is a motor from GM in 1975.
