This is an original date coded from my 69. These seem to sell for crazy money so I might as well ask.
What happened is the jack screw broke from me over stressing it. I don't see how to get the screw out out, nor if I can find a replacement for just the screw.
This is a little out of the ordinary question. But .... thanks for any help, there's always an expert here for darn near anything.
I'm thinking get a jack from a random year that is inexpensive. And rob parts off of it to repair the correct date coded jack.
As per how to repair, I can't really see the problem.
Can you post another picture showing exactly where the break is?KC
What do you have in mind? I can't weld it, that would be dangerous.

The jack screw is swaged. And the pivot may be as well. I think I have to take the entire jack handle end off and replace it somehow. And I have to maker sure the screw pitch is the same as what I've got.
I don't think it can be repaired but no harm in asking.
Am I correct that the end of the screw shaft has broken off?
A machinist could make a new screw shaft with the correct Acme(?) threading pretty easily. Maybe find a retired machinist or a friend of a friend who does it for fun.
I'm not sure how the block at the shaft's hex head is secured to the scissors -- been a long time since I've looked at a jack that closely. I'd guess removing the block from the scissors is the way to get the shaft free and the new one swaged into place.
I'll take a look at my '72 jack on Saturday to see if it looks like your '69's. BTW, my '67's jack has the nut stripped for the shaft but it's a slightly different jack design where it's welded onto the pivot so easier to replace.
I'd like to sell it to some number's matching guy at best. But if it's all buggered up, it's worthless. I hate to throw it away in any event and would like to fix it so it retains some value.
Paint it up pretty and stow it away in the storage bin behind the seats where it belongs. Get another generic scissors jack (or other type) to actually use.
