How can you sell a Corvette or Corvette parts without a Price
Have you ever noticed on this forum how many Corvettes for sale and parts for sale do not have a price. I can understand that they may not know how to post a picture here, but how can you sell anything without giving a price.
I have sold Corvettes , and parts here for years, and I have bought both here for years, but never bought one without a price given. That just seems basic to me. Like saying the color is red with black interior.
Just last week, I responded to a ad in C3's for sale. I said I am interested. How much is your price. He said I do not know. I do not have anything to compare it with, but I just can't give it away. I said, well, you know what you have in it and should know what you have to get out of it. I said think about it and let me know. I have never heard back from him.
I will guarantee you when I post a Corvette or a part for sell you will know my price.

I agree with you 100%. I will sometimes let a potential buyer tell me what they want to give for a part in response to a post like "I have one of those I am willing to sell" just because I have not thought about a price yet. I like to see prices on "for sale" posts.

How much do you want for it?
I don't know, whats it worth to you?
Heck, I don't know. How much did you expect?
I don't know, I didn't think about it much
Time to start over
So! How much do you want for it?
I don't know, whats it worth ..................... :mad :mad :mad :mad

I agree that a price should be stated or I'm not checking into it. I don't deal over the internet a whole lot anyway, but when it comes to local classifieds, if there's no price stated I'm not calling no matter how interested I am. Either it's a "make me an offer" thing, or it's so expensive it's not worth it. Either way I don't want it.
BTW, for sale: Corvette stuff, and other stuff too, make me an offer, must see to believe, serious inquiries only.

I completely agree.
I won't persue a vehicle or practically anything else unless it's priced. I'm not wasting my time asking for prices that should have been included. If you don't know what it's worth then put it on eBay.

I agree, I cannot understand why people do that, No price no response :)
you know that if they did some homework they would know what to ask.

:iagree: I've seen this game a whole bunch of times in a whole bunch of places. An ad like that tells me the seller is fishing for the highest offer, and doesn't want to commit for less. Trying to get the most he can for it. Like stated above... put it on ebay.

I agree.
For the record, the lowest price I'm willing to take for my 1972 is $13,000 ;)

Does the same go for WTB?? If I am looking for an item and I receive a couple of responses most of the time they want me to name a price or should I just do something like this ... WTB: original 71 BB valve covers for $50.00 per pair and if you don't like my offer don't respond!!!!!!

If there is no price,I figure it's too high and they are embarrassed of what they are asking. Anytime I sell something I always put a price on it to make sure it sells quickly and is more than fair to the buyer. But if you don't have a price on your merchandise or car, you;re wasting your time with me. Hershey :chevy
