Default Glass experts, pls read

This damaged happened when previous owner hit a pole backing out of a parking space.

About 4 crackes along the lip that go all the way through. The near the top of the fender also goes all the way through.

Will this require the entire fender be replaced? What would a good shop charge to fix this? I don't mind doing the minor stuff, but am afraid a repair may show after a while.

Thanks

IMO, the hardest part will be fixing the cracks on the edge of the fender.

A shop, my guess would charge around $1k for that kind of repair.

No. You don't need to replace the fender. Fiberglass repair work is 10% know how, 10% Sweat and 80% patience. You need patience to do it right and not try to wing it. :yesnod: A good Vette shop or anyone well versed with fiberglass can handle the job.

I agree with above, it will be pricey to get it done right. The hardest part IMO will be matching the metallic blue paint. If your planning a repaint down the road, no biggy.

If you want to tackle this yourself, post again for "how-to" directions. You'll get a lot of good advice and it's something you can do on your own.

The whole car is getting stripped and painted, so that will not be a concern. I saw how they fixed some glass on the L88 on Dream Car garage and it doesn't look difficult. I have more time than $$ right now so I think I will give it a try.
