Default What is this? - Holley Carb

I've indicated by the black arrow a connection that is not hooked up on my Holley Street Avenger 670CFM.

What SHOULD this be hooked up to, if anything? Also, where are these sight windows that are used to adjust the carb? Or, are they on the other side (which I don't have a picture of, yet).

Thanks.

Not sure on the item in the pic, but the site windows are the clear plugs on the side of the float bowls on the same side as the item in question. They are used to adjust float height. the gas should be just to the bottom of the windows. The older style used brass plugs that required removal.

Hope that was what you are refering to.

I can see that the carb has an electric choke configuration but to me from the pic it looks like that is a connection for a heat riser tube to the choke.
I know that is not it but that is what the pic looks like.

:iagree:

That is exactly what it looks like. I wonder if that is a dual system choke?

some ford orignal carbs used both electric and hot air to operate the choke :chevy

I always thought it was just a vent, there is usually a little mesh screen behind the brass nut.

Fresh air intake for the choke. Leave it be and don't block it.

This is just a vent for the choke, do not block it. The sights are you are talking about are the clear pieces on the sides of the bowls. These are used to see the fuel levels when adjusting levels.
