I wish I had found this before I had my motor rebuilt. . .

On second thought, maybe not.
It could be very sweet, but you do not know what you are really getting here.
The pad looks like it has been decked and restamped. The etchings/crosshairs make it look like it has been sanded down. The stamped numbers looks too new and the characters are bigger than on my block.
A review of the sellers previous auctions appear that he could have assembled this motor from parts purchased on ebay.

Definitely looks like a restamp, but if it was rebuilt correctly it's still a decent deal at $4.5k.
Why would anybody stamp a VIN into the block if they don't have the car to put it in? Because of that, I would be leary about the quality of the engine/rebuild.
