Default Removing hood badges.

Quick question, how are the L-82 badges attached to the hood? Glued? And what is a good way of removing them without messing up paint or anything. I have L-82 badges but according to the VIN, etc, it's actually an L-48. I think someone at some point put them on, don't know why. Also, did every '78 have some kind of badge on the hood? I don't know if I want to put L-48 badges on, but I will probably want to so there is something there. Thanks in advance.

On my 79 the emblems are held on with nuts on the underside of the hood. Have to pull the insulation back just a bit to get to them.
