I was wondering what mod, where and how did you mount the knock sensor when you converted to the TPI set up I have been puzzling where to mount and how???
Re: Question for TPI guys - Knock sensor (timbo79)
On a stock style L98 TPI setup the knock sensor screws into the lower driver's side skirt of the block in the water drain plug hole....wiring goes next to oil pan with a clip and goes up back edge of block...just one wire...
Re: Question for TPI guys - Knock sensor (Twin_Turbo)
There...on the left.. there it is.
Yup, got one on the Formula. I believe there is a better one avail for the LT1's but don't have the info in front of me. It is listed the TPI swappers guide or maybe in another TPI/FI book I have. If you need the info let me know.
There's a difference betweent he sensors for roller and non roller blocks. The roller ones are used in conjunction w/ an ESC that has an ignore circuitry for the valve train nosie (os it sin't picked up as knock)
Re: Question for TPI guys - Knock sensor (patsnitrovette)
I have headers and non-roller rockers, but my knock sensor is still too sensitive. I'm going to 1.6 rollers soon, and I think I might get rid of the knock sensor. Also, I've heard if you don't have roller lifters and you do have quite a bit of lift that the sensor will pick that up as a knock. Not sure how true that is.
